I ♥ the Hondas

I had the most amazing weekend with my friends, the Hondas! Yukiko and her mom arrived in Himeji around 11am on Saturday morning. I brought them to my apartment and the first thing they did was to help prevent further gokiburi attacks!!!! Yukiko had purchased poison bate/traps and spray. She immediately placed the bate in high traffic bug areas and sprayed my balcony. Here are the pictures of Yukiko making my house gokiburi proof.

We ate at a terrific soba noodle restaurant near my house. They make the noodles at the restaurant and they were awesome. We spent the rest of the afternoon shopping for cleaning products and toiletries. Since I'm illiterate, they showed me what to buy. They not only helped me pick out cleaning products, but also purchased them and even helped me clean my apartment! I protested their cleaning efforts, but they continued to clean.

When we were at the store, Yukiko was giving me a tour of the feminine products section. I noticed there was a product with Hello Kitty on the package. I thought they might be tampons. She told me it was for women cleaning themselves....in other words it's HELLO KITTY DOUCHE! Can you believe it??!!!??? I had to take a picture!

Yukiko and her mom took me out for Okonomiyaki - sort of a Japanese omelet, but better. It has egg and flower and all kinds of meats and vegetables. Yukiko described it as Japanese comfort food.

Yukiko and her mom showed me how to operate my phone/fax machine, my toilet, the washer, the dryer room, my television and the stove! Okay, the toilet has a bunch of knobs and frankly, I'm not brave enough to test out the controls....but maybe when I've had a few drinks in me I'll take the plunge, so to speak, and test drive my toilet. By the way, I have a "shower toilet", which has a faucet that runs water up at the top of the tank to wash my hands after I go to the bathroom. The toilet is deluxe!!!

We also went to Himeji castle. It's truly amazing and beautiful! We were on a tight schedule, so we didn't make it to the very top of the castle, but I hope they will visit again and I'll probably happily visit the castle many more times! Included are my cheesey tourist photos with the serious samuri man at the castle.

These were somebody's pet prairie dogs, that they had at the park around the castle. I thought it was a bit crazy!

We also did something else....when I have the pictures...I will post and explain ---- all I'm going to say is that I'm addicted and obsessed!!! It's awesome!!!

It was a fabulous weekend! I hope we can see each other again soon!

Two things: you should have bought the Hello Kitty Douche- it'd be something to make you laugh for years to come.

Secondly, your toilet SCARES me!! Do I even want to know what all the buttons are for?

How can you relax and do your business on something that looks like it may take flight at any minute?

I'm so glad your friends were able to visit you- that must have been so much fun to see familiar faces!
