Himeji Elections

Elections were towards the end of April. It was a fairly quiet day but the weeks leading up to it were noisy! On some street corners there were groups of supporters and a candidate in matching color clothes and head bands bowing and waving at people and using megaphones and microphones to tell us to vote for them. They were mostly in cars with loudspeakers blaring and waving at people with white gloved hands. The worst part was the continual noise from the cars especially on an early weekend morning. It was fortunate that I didn't understand most of what they were saying.

Unlike Arizona, candidate posters were designated to one bulletin board in each community.

The noise was 'out of control'! I hope i don't have to see another one while I am here.
