Teru Teru Bozu

Sports Day was a couple of weeks ago. Sports Day is the annual student sporting event. There are races, dancing, gymnastics and other group games. There was a typhoon warning so everyone was concerned that Sports Day would be cancelled.

The students made teru teru bozu dolls to wish for a sunny day. It worked! We had nice weather until the end of the day.

Farmers use to make teru teru bozu dolls to wish for sunny weather or if you hang them updside down, then you can wish for rain. They are usually made out of white tissue paper with string tied around the neck and a face drawn on them and hung up outside of the house.

The kids strung up a long row of teru teru bozu dolls on the 4th floor balcony of the school.

These are the cutest teru teru bozu dolls!

I love my students!!!

Pictures of the weather and the view, like that first one, make me feel so nice and cozy. Fall is coming and then winter - my favorites!
