Vietnam - Hanoi

After spending 3 days in HCMC we caught a flight last night to Hanoi. We haven't even been here 24 hours and haven't even begun to explore but we already know that we really like this city, better than HCMC. Hanoi has about 3 million people and is touristy as well, but it's more spread out and it feels more like a neighborhood. We are staying in the Old Quarter in an old hotel that is an old French colonial style building. The architecture and streets feel like a mixture of New Orleans, San Francisco and NYC and of course Vietnam. It's so great, we are really excited to go exploring today. I'm so glad that we left HCMC.

HCMC was really interesting and fun as well, but I think Hanoi might be more our pace. We will probably go to a water puppet show tonight. We will go to Halong Bay either tomorrow or the next day for an overnight stay in a junk and a cruise around the beautiful limestone rocks (a world heritage site).

There's an internet cafe across the street from our hotel. So, I'll update some more this week. Unfortunately, I didn't bring the USB cable for my camera so photos will follow later.
