I don’t care what your politics are, please vote on November 7th. Consider it my birthday present! It would be the best present you could give me!
We finally got our ballots in the mail last week. We got screwed!
We requested our ballots almost 2 months ago. The ballot arrived so late that when I mailed it on Thursday priority mail/extra urgent, I was told it might not make it to Arizona by Tuesday at 7pm. It will get to NYC pretty quickly but Japan can’t guarantee it from NYC to Phoenix. I don't know if it will arrive in Arizona in time for our vote to be counted.
And to make things worse, the ballot was only for the federal election, so we could only vote for senate and congress. In Arizona the local elections are just as important, probably more important than the federal elections!
We were not sent a ballot that included our gubernatorial race and all of the propositions. There are 19 propositions on the Arizona ballot this year and I can’t express how angry I am that I can’t $#@%&*@# VOTE!!!!! Here are a handful of just some of the propositions:
Prop 103 – English is the official language
Prop 107 – Marriage is only between a man and a woman
Prop 200 – Cash rewards for voting
Prop 201 – No smoking
Prop 202 – Raising the minimum wage to $6.75 per hour
Prop 203 – Early Childhood Education/Health – Tax Money
After the last big presidential election, I was so disillusioned that I shut down. I stopped paying attention to the news and politics. Now that I'm finally feeling interested again in politics and in making a difference I can't.
I repeat again, I don’t care what your politics are, please vote on November 7th. Consider it my birthday present! It would be the best present you could give me!
